Janet and NCU/NG9 colleagues spent the day touring the depots and offices of Broxtowe Borough Council helping to promote the new payroll deduction scheme to employees who wish to become members of the Nottingham Credit Union.

Don't we call them refuse collectors, recycling agents or even hygiene operatives these days? Did you manage to recruit any bin women?
Did you hear that some bin men were having their wages dropped to get them in line with lower paid women council workers?
Seriously though this is an excellent way to get grass routes folks to save at source. Well done! Were there many takers?
